Land Rovers were once the King Of The Hill.
now they are just overpriced and plastic.
back in the days of Wild Kingdom sponsored by Mutual of Omaha, land rovers were as tough as tanks but that was 1960's?

|||If you want a reliable used car and you don't want to spend money, I advise you to get something else, like a car that is not british or made for off road use, personally I'd never buy anything with a trailer hitch, because I would expect the owner to have abused it.|||Land Rover is originally a British company, but is now owned by Ford Motor Co. of the USA.
They have a reputation for high quality and luxury, but are incredibly expensive. They make the Discovery, Range Rover, Freelander, Defender.|||OMG look on Autotrader because these are going for between $2500-$3500!! It is British and DON'T buy one because Ford now owns them and Land Rover's reliability has suffered because of this fact. Thanks again Ford for destroying yet another fine automobile manufacturer- this time the once great marque known as Land Rover.|||It now is american and owned by Ford, but that is recent (2000). Land Rover also makes the Range Rover, Freelander, Discovery (LR3), Defender, Series I II and III. I like my Disco cuz it is nice while 4x4ing and using around town!!!|||Land Rover is the British automotive company that makes the model Range Rover. Land Rover currently manufactures the LR3, the LR2, the Range Rover Sport, and the Range Rover. Ford is Land Rover's current parent company. Jaguar %26amp; Land Rover both belong to the Premier Automotive Group. Talks are currently underway to sell LR %26amp; Jag to Tata motors of India.
Make sure you take the Discovery to a mechanic to see the condition of the vehicle before purchasing it. Land Rovers have a large support network, especially online, and the parts are really not any more expensive than for any other make. (Contrary to what the other poster wrote).
Land Rovers are excellent for off-roading and have an exceptional permanent four wheel drive system.|||Range Rover is made by 'rover' It is a Brit make. It is expensive to buy (for what you get) and damned expensive to repair. The gas mileage is bag, too.|||Actually it's English.|||It is not reliable. It is a British car company that was bought by Ford years ago. It shares many parts with the Ford Explorer and Expedition. They are also very expensive to fix. They will last over 100,000 miles. These days, all cars can reach that, but it won't make it to 200,000 miles unless it was really taken care of.
