If Mercedes-Benz have some of the worst reliability around, why chew out Land Rover so much more harsh?

Lol by now I think people have figured out I'm fond of Land Rover. The only thing that I do not understand is that Mercedes-Benz have some of the worst reliability ever, but people still love them. Some Mercedes-Benz are over-priced and have horrible resale value.

When people talk about Land Rover, it has all the flaws of the Mercedes ,but seems that no matter what it gets no love.

Can someone explain this?|||I don't know of any Mercedes that has a bad resale value, even the C Class outperforms Japanese cars as far as value retention is concerned. They are also more reliable than Land Rovers. No I'm actually a Jaguar fan and have no problems with their 4X4 cousins and am actually quite fond of Defenders. Land Rover's reliability problems have a lot to do with poor service as well as build quality. High priced and scare spare parts add to the phenomena of owners not properly caring for their vehicles, adding to their reputation for being unreliable. |||whoa slow down mercedes-benz is know for there world class performance and smooth riding.there in there own class.|||You are starting to become obsessed pal. Mercedes has been known worldwide for their quality. Example, the 240D is bulletproof, and is used in livery service worldwide, some with close or more than 500,000 miles without a rebuild. Land Rover, on the other hand, does not fare as well.
