Is a Land Rover Freelander a good vehicle?

I have a 2004 Land Rover Freelander and yesterday my vehicle wouldn't start and once it did, i couldn't go over 30 mph, It got towed to the Land Rover dealership and originally they thought it was the transmission, however it was just a wires that frayed.

The lady at the dealership said I should sell the vehicle because the freelander isn't suitible for North American climate.... What do you think?|||It isn't that the Freelander isn't suited for our climate. It is a similar issue, though.

The vehicle had to be modified to pass all our nonsense rules over here, and the modification ruined it. The Freelander itself is a great vehicle and a heck of a lot of fun. Everyone else in the world is enjoying them without too much trouble, but people in the US sure aren't.

So, it isn't that it is not suited to our climate, it is that it is not suited to our rules. Many great cars are castrated in order to be shipped to the good ole US of A, and the Freelander was one of them.

There are things that can be done to increase their reliability. If you like it, it is worth looking into. Check out Land Rover discussion forums on the web to find enthusiasts who actually know what they are talking about. They will help you out, it is what they do.

Don't worry about the other vehicles. Land Rover has done very well with everything else. It is just this darned Freelander that can be finicky.

This is not what I think. This is what I KNOW.|||No. They break down a lot.
