How do I install a trailer plug in my Land Rover?

I need to install a light plug for a boat trailer in my Land Rover Freelander

and I don't know which wire goes from the trailer plug to the car wires.

I already have the trailer wired up: 4 connectors (brown, green yellow and white=ground) I don't even know where the stop, parking / headlights and the signal wires are in this vehicle. I'll appreciate any expertise but please tell me in lay mans terms I am a "duh" for this things.|||You will need to have brake lights, turn signal lights, marker lights, and a ground. The turn signal and brake lights run on the same filament on the trailer, but different bulbs on your Land Rover. You will need an adapter box, available at a local trailer parts store, to wire it correctly. If you type in "how to wire a trailer" on "howto.com" you will get very detailed info on how to do it. If you have trailer brakes you will need to buy and wire in a trailer brake control, again available at a trailer parts store. Please be careful to do it correctly, and if it doesn't make sense then pay a local shop to do it for you.|||There`s normally more than 4 wires on a tow hitch, anyway the simplest way for you to wire it up is to first get at the wiring behind one of the rear light clusters.

Make sure you`ve got a good earth from trailer to car.

Get a needle and connect it to one of the wires from the trailer.

Turn on the sidelights and pierce each wire behind the light cluster until the trailer lights come on.

Connect this wire.

Now do the same for the brake lights with someone pressing the pedal.

The indicators are done in the same way but behind both light clusters for left and right indicators.

Like i said,i don`t think you have enough wires.
