Registering a British Land Rover in the States?

I am an American living in England. I am extremely interested in purchasing a 09 Land Rover Defender here and shiping it back to the states when I come back. I am wondering about some of the pitfalls involved in this. Are right side vehicles allowed in most states? EPA difficulties? Registration difficulties?|||we have those English black london cabs
