How much would getting a 2 inch lift on my Land Rover Discovery Series ii affect its handling?
Would i have to get bigger tires as well? And whats the cost?|||of course it will effect handling you are putting the centre of gravity higher. - however, you own a land rover so this won't be an issue as they spend most of their time broken down or getting fixed.
What do I do if the reverse shift to a land rover isnt working?
Im looking into buying a 2003 landrover for $3000. Its clean, smooth ride, good engine, in good shape everything but the only problem is that it wont reverse. Im willing to buy it if the problem is fixable and not too too expensive. Any advice or tips on what the problem might be, how I can fix it, or what I should do?|||I would shy away from purchasing a Land Rover period. They don't have a good reputation when it comes to reliability and maintenance.
Virtually everything you do to a Land Rover is going to be expensive.|||Too Funny!!! a 2003 Land Rover with a blown tranny, or at least a blown reverse clutch pack for $3000, Uhh do you think there may be a reason they only want $3000 for it, which is a complete rip off by the way, Its a Land Rover for pete sakes, the tranny work alone will cost 6 grand and the next problem like the engine blowing up will be 10 grand, and gee if you do get it fixed and it needs brakes look at another 3 grand, another $800 for a water pump if that fails, hate to tell you this but Land Rovers are money pits and someone is trying to unload theres on you . run as fast as you can and dont look back.|||i believe i would stay clean away from that car. sounds like the reverse band is broke and hard tell what else is wrong.

Is the Land Rover Freelander considered a "luxury SUV"?
I have heard many people say this since I bought a 2002 version recently. It just happened to be the only vehicle available and I got a great price. How does it compare with other vehicles of it's size? I know reliability is a major issue (from what I have heard) and it is expensive to fix. Partly because it is a "luxury" vehicle. Or is the Freelander the "budget line" Land Rover and the Range Rover is the more elite vehicle?|||you usually consider anything above 40-50K a luxury automobile. yes land rover are sport and luxury suvs.|||When you need a repair you'll find out fast that it's a luxury vehicle. Few places to have it serviced, service and parts are incredibly expensive, and they require a lot of maintenance along with frequent breakdowns. I owned one for 2 years and couldn't get rid of it quickly enough. Worst decision I ever made on a vehicle, and I've owned dozens of vehicles. Sorry for the bad news. Good luck with yours.

Why does my land rover 2003 discovery start in sport mode?
The green sport driving option light turns on when the vehicle is turned on without me hitting the mode switch?|||You might take a peek in the Owner's Manual.
What causes the chirping on acceleration of my Land Rover?
When I accelerate, I get a chirping noise. Usually only during light acceleration - if I hit it hard, it doesn't seem to do it. As soon as I pull my foot off the accelerator, it goes away. I just had a serpentine belt replaced and that didn't make it go away. Mechanic is now saying it's a bad U-joint but that doesn't likely as it's not a clunking - it's a definite chirping (high pitched) HELP?|||Sure sounds like a belt. Check the belt tensioner, they have a bearing in them and if the bearing is going out it could be seizing and causing the problem|||have the tensioner checked on the serpentine belt, sounds like it's not keeping the belt completely tight.
What is better a land rover discovery or a range rover off road?
Please state facts not opinions.|||Land Rover Defender|||Range rover or the defender both are excelent cars! (discovery is full of %$^* )
